Although he played small parts in several films, such as Shakes the Clown (1991) and “Mixed Nuts” (1994), he finally got the stardom he needed with “Billy Madison” (1995), the first movie he co-wrote. Many critics criticized his humor, labeling it immature and silly, but he became popular with moviegoers.

One of his recent hits is the 2019 “Murder Mystery,” where Adam Sandler played a married couple alongside Jennifer Aniston, on a European vacation to bring the spark back in their marriage but get framed for the murder of an elderly billionaire.
