Autographia: The Place to Buy Authentic Eric Clapton Autographed Memorabilia

The only three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Eric Clapton is a well-known singer, songwriter, and rock and blues guitarist. He’s referred to as one of the best and most influential guitarists of our time, ranked fourth in Gibson’s list of Top 50 Guitarists of All Time and second in Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. Some of his more memorable hits include “Tears in Heaven”, “Layla”, “My Father’s Eyes”, and “Change the World”.

Born and raised in Surrey, Clapton started learning and playing the guitar seriously when he was 15. He was influenced greatly by the blues from an early age, and had the habit of recording his guitar playing and listening to them repeatedly until he was satisfied with it. Eric Clapton lists Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Albert King, Freddie King, Buddy Guy, and Hubert Sumlin as his biggest guitar playing influences. At 16, he started busking and around the West End, Kingston, and Richmond, and was easily noticed because of his advanced guitar playing skills.

His first band was called the Yardbirds, which he joined when he was 18 and toured England for two years. He eventually left and joined with bands John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Cream, supergroup Blind Faith, and Delaney and Bonnie and Friends over the next years. His solo career was also very notable, and his collaborations with various artists and bands over the years have given him much recognition as a songwriter and guitarist.

He produced 23 solo studio albums, with Unplugged (1992) gaining Clapton six Grammy awards in 1993 and becoming the best selling live album of all time. It sold more than 26 million copies worldwide and is Clapton’s best selling album to date. Other very notable albums he released include Slowhand (1977), which contains the hit “Wonderful Tonight”, 461 Ocean Boulevard (1974) having the hit “I Shot the Sheriff”, Rush (1992), which includes “Tears in Heaven”, and the much-lauded Pilgrim (1998) containing all-new studio recorded material.

Erip Clapton has won a total of 18 Grammy awards throughout his career, including Song of the Year in 1997 for “Change the World”, Best Male Rock Vocal Performance in 1989 for the single, “Bad Love”, and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 1999 for the song, “My Father’s Eyes”.
